In 2015, English Wayfinder began its journey as Ricks English, a local initiative based in Santa Maria. With a passion for teaching, Rick initially conducted private English classes in a physical classroom downtown, catering to the local community's language learning needs. The early years were marked by a dedication to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment, laying the foundation for what was to come.

The pivotal moment arrived in 2017 when Ricks English embraced the digital era, transitioning to online classes conducted over Zoom. This transformative shift not only broadened the geographical reach of the services but also introduced a flexible and accessible learning model. Students from Brazil, the USA, Europe, Australia, and Central America joined the virtual classrooms, forming a diverse and interconnected community of learners. In 2023, Ricks English underwent a significant rebranding, becoming English Wayfinder and capturing the essence of its mission. The reimagined identity aimed to embody the spirit of guidance in the learning journey. Drawing inspiration from ancient Greek literary traditions, the owl emerged as a symbol of wisdom and guidance. The owl's watchful eye, depicted in the logo, signifies English Wayfinder's role in guiding students through their educational odyssey, fostering a sense of purpose and direction in the pursuit of language proficiency.
